Beijing's successor to the summer Olympic Games, London settled into its Beijing "home" on August 7 to highlight business, study and travel opportunities to Chinese people. A high profile Olympic Handover celebration will be held there on August 24, when London officially becomes the next host city.
London Mayor Boris Johnson, who will receive the Olympic flag at the handover ceremony, said: "As the next host city of the Olympic Games, London's presence in Beijing is a fantastic opportunity for us to gain vital experience for the 2012 Games and will be a showcase to the rest of the world what London has to offer as a city. "
A series of seminars will be offered, seeking out China-UK cooperation on tapping into business and investment possibilities in London and exchange ideas on Olympics.
Harvey McGrath, Chair of the LDA, which will host most of the events, said: "We want to maximise the benefits of the Olympics coming to London in 2012 by promoting inward investment and building on our global relationships in vital emerging markets such as China."
The London House, located at Shi-Cha-Hai, will be open to the public August 16 – 17, where London's tourism and cultural resources will be showcased.
