Colombian wrestler Jakeline Renteria said Sunday that her bronze medal at the 55kg category of wrestling was a satisfaction and could "take my family out from the marginal district where we live."

According to reports reaching here, Renteria, 22, was born and raised in a district of the city of Cali, "poor and very dangerous district because of the insecurity," but she said that with her triumph "I hope to have a better place to offer to my family, to have a better live style."

Renteria said to press that she has chosen a better district for her family: "a bit more down, like San Fernando, near from the sports units of Cali."

Renteria won the bronze medal after defeating Romanian Ana Paval and she said that "I dedicate this medal to my companion Rodrigo Antonio Piedrahita, who was South American champion, and who died in November 2007 in a shooting under circumstances that have not been clarified till now."

"(Piedrahita) always won medals at the Pan American Games and in 2007 he represented Colombia winning a medal and we both classified for this Olympic Games," Renteria said.

Renteria also said that she hopes that her medal also serves to motivate a series of very good girls and with a lot of future in her country "who are beginning with my coach Victor Capacho."

Renteria, who shared the bronze with Canadian Tonya Verbeek, expects to "train to get ready for the coming Olympic Games of London and win a gold one."

With Renteria's medal, Colombia has added two medals in Beijing. The other medal was a silver of weightlifting and Diego Salazar won it, and Renteria said "he will get 55,000 U.S. dollars from the Colombian government, so I also expect to be rewarded with money."
