"Through Internet, much more people feel enjoyment of the Beijing Olympic Games," said Richard Palfreyman, advisor of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Beijing on Thursday.

"The Internet grows very quickly. It widened the world's knowledge of China," said the advisor.

Mr. Palfreyman worked as press chief of the 2000 Sydney Games, media advisor to the 2004 Athens Games and the manager of the Main Press Center (MPC) of the 2006 Turin Winter Games.

"There is big cultural difference between different host cities. But one of the things remained the same is the enthusiasm of the people and especially here in China."

"Go down to the history of Olympic Games, Beijing Olympic Games is a very good Games," he said. "The intention of the details, lots of efforts spent have made a much higher standard than the previous ones."

"I know outside China, the coverage and interests are immense. There is more coverage from the overseas than the previous ones," he added.

"The Internet is a terrific thing. It will become more open in the coming years," he said.
