128 - Athletes competing in the singles tournaments, of 64 men and 64 women.

46 - Age of He Zhi Wen representing Spain, the oldest participant in the Olympic table tennis competition.

32 - 16 women's and 16 men's team in the team events, which debut in Olympics at Beijing 2008.

16 - Olympic table tennis gold medals won by China out of a possible 20 in previous Games.

15 - Age of Marcelo Aguirre of Paraguay, the youngest competitor in the table tennis tournament.

10 - Bronze medals won by South Korea in all Olympic table tennis competitions.

9 - Gold medals won by China out of a possible 10 in all women's Olympic competitions.

8 - Maximum number of tables being played on simultaneously during the Olympic tournament.

7 - Gold medals won by China out of a possible 10 in all Men's Olympic competitions.

6 - Jean-Michel Saive of Belgium, Jorgen Persson of Sweden and Zoran Primorac of Croatia will make record sixth appearance in men's singles tournament.
