Based on China's current condition, i.e., already with adequate food and clothing, and the people's overall living reaches relatively comfortable level, the 16th CPC National Congress further proposed the concept of building a well-off society, that is, in the first 20 years of this century, concentrating all our efforts on building a higher level of well-off society that comprehensively benefits more than one billion population with further developed economy, improved democracy, advanced science and education, enriched culture, harmonious society and upgraded life.
After this phase of construction, China aims to continue to work for decades and basically realize modernization in the middle of the century and build China into a prosperous, democratic and civilized modern socialist country.
