Given the fact that the China-U.S. relationship, commonly said to be in a "Bermuda Triangle" stage with Taiwan, Tibet issues and trade tussles, is in neither side's interest to get derailed, there is nothing new for any U.S. president relates China in delivering the State of the Union, but it is noteworthy that this year when President Barack Obama speaks of China, the significant changes are still perceived by some observant people.

When the world focus zeroes in on the international rescue efforts, people will have to mull over a question: In what way the developed powers such as the U.S. and the U.K. are playing the leading role on the global stage while offering hand to those underdeveloped countries? The devastative Haiti earthquake, a "historic disaster", again sheds light on the common sense that support and aid should not only occur in times of calamities, but also go to the needy in peace days.

Unlike the purely commercial firms, Google has gone public with its high-profile corporate motto----Do Not Evil, laying bare its self-position in the market as a multinational which seems mature enough to play its monopoly in return for the political interests; or charitably said, to act as a social enterprise. That explains why in an unusually conspicuous move, it publicly announced that it may quit China, sparking a wave of reaction from both within and outside of China, and competing with Haiti massive quake for the media attention.
