The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) criticized on Tuesday Japan's warning it will destroy debris from its rocket launch, and issued a warning of its own.

"Should Japan dare recklessly intercept the DPRK's satellite, its army will consider this as the start of Japan's war of re-invasion more than six decades after the Second World War and mercilessly destroy all its interceptor means and citadels with the most powerful military means," the official KCNA news agency said in an article.

The article said the purpose of Japan's move was "to bring the six-party talks to a collapse and delay the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and thus justify its ambition for nuclear weaponization," and "to facilitate the militarization of the Japanese society and weather its political crisis."

It said the DPRK was not afraid of any attempt by Japan to intercept the rocket.

The DPRK has declared it will launch a communications satellite sometime between April 4 to 8. Japan has ordered its military forces to intercept possible debris which might fall on its territory in case the launch failed.
