China said Thursday it expects to see a consensus from all parties to agree on whether to disclose the specific measures for the disablement of the nuclear facilities of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao made the remarks at a regular press conference when asked whether China is ready to publicly disclose such disablement measures.

"There is almost no problem with China on doing so," said Liu, adding it still requires the parties to reach a consensus.

Liu said China is glad to see measures on the disablement go well and hopes it will proceed smoothly to the completion of the tasks set forth in the joint document issued on Oct. 3 by all the parties to the six-party talks -- China, the DPRK, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan.

The DPRK agreed in the document to disable all existing nuclear facilities and to provide a complete and correct declaration of all its nuclear programs by the end of this year.

The document said the disabling of the five megawatt experimental reactors, the reprocessing plant (radiochemical laboratory) and the nuclear fuel rod fabrication facility in Yongbyon would be completed by Dec. 31.

China hopes the commitment made in the Oct. 3 joint document can be honored as scheduled, Liu added.
