The US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue
was Jointly launched by President Hu and President
Obama at their first meeting in London in April, 2009.

High-level representatives of both countries
will meet annually at capitals alternating between
the U.S. and China.

This new arrangement replaces the dual-track
China-US high-level dialogue mechanism of the
strategic dialogue since Aug. 2005 and the
strategic economic dialogue since Dec. 2006.
