11th Asia Arts Festival kicks off in Ordos

The 11th Asia Arts Festival, themed “Auspicious prairie, blissful Asia”, kicked off on August 18, 2009 in Ordos, a city in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The festival, held from August 18 till August 26, is intended to boost the prosperity and development in cultural exchange of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Troupes from 18 Asian nations will participate in the festival and go on a performance tour including the banners of Hohhot, Baotou, Bayanzhuoer, Wuhai, and Ordos’s City.

This year’s festival is hosted by the Culture Ministry of the People’s Republic of China and People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and jointly held by People’s Government of Ordos, Culture Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and China Arts and Entertainment Group.
