MANILA, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo refused to enter a plea on charges of plunder filed before the country's anti-graft court, local media said Monday.
The First Division of the Sandiganbayan followed the rules of court and entered a not guilty plea on her behalf, according to the report filed by local news website www.inquirer.net.
Arroyo has been charged with plunder for allegedly misusing intelligence funds of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office ( PCSO) during her presidency.
The Sandiganbayan ordered her arrest. Arroyo, who is suffering from a heart disease and bone mineral disorder, is now under hospital arrest at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
