THE HAGUE, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Dutch police have smashed an international drug ring and captured seven suspected members in one of their largest operations in recent years, local media reported on Wednesday.
A total of 200 police officers from the Dutch Royal Military Police (KMAR), the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) and Customs took part in the joint action in Eindhoven, Dordrecht, Diemen and Amsterdam on Tuesday.
The seven suspects arrested came from Cape Verde, the United States and the Netherlands Antilles. They were accused of importing and trafficking drugs, laundering money, illegal possession of weapons and participation in a criminal organization.
In total, Eleven men and one woman have been arrested by the police this month. Earlier this month five people were captured on suspicion of preparing funding on behalf of the organization.
