BOGOTA, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Colombian Vice President Colombian Angelino Garzon Wednesday asked the Revolutionary Armed Force of Colombia (FARC) to hand over all the underage recruits in its rebel ranks as peace talks between the government and the major rebel group continued in Havana, Cuba.
Garzon also required the FARC to reveal the exact number of underage rebels in the insurgent group, adding that recruiting minors "is illegal and violates international humanitarian law".
"We don't know how many boys and girls have been recruited by the guerrillas," he told Colombia's Caracol Radio.
Meanwhile, Colombia's armed forces chief Gen. Alejandro Navas said that FARC rebels have not abided by its commitments under its two-month unilateral ceasefire.
"We have evidence of how they broke their word," said Navas, adding "we haven't made any agreements with them, but they had made a promise to the Colombian people".
According to the general, since the ceasefire went into effect midnight Monday, there have been cases of rebels attacking civilians, activating mine fields and knocking out power stations.
