ATHENS, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Greek government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou condemned on Sunday the latest petrol bomb attack in Athens earlier the same day, which was targeted at the home of the spokesman's brother.

On early Sunday, a group of unknown perpetrators broke a window of the residence of George Kedikoglou in central Athens and threw in petrol bombs, starting a small fire. George Kedikoglou was inside with his spouse and his three-year old child, but nobody was hurt.

Condemning the attack, the government spokesman said "democracy can not be terrorized."

The development came after the houses of five Greek journalists were firebombed under similar circumstances on Friday.

An anarchist group so-called "Militant Minority" claimed responsibility for these attacks "in protest of media likes to the political system," as offices of the two main parties which have ruled the country for decades, the conservative New Democracy and the socialist PASOK, were attacked with similar devices made of gas canisters across Athens.

Several Greek media, along politicians, have been criticized by Left-wing groups over the coverage of the debt crisis which has led Greece to the brink of default since 2009.
