CAIRO, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- At least seven were killed and 630 others injured on Sunday in Egypt's seaside city of Port Said during a funeral for the victims of Saturday's clashes between security forces and angry protesters, official Nile TV and medical sources said.

"Among the injured people, 419 were hurt by tear gas bombs and the rest were injured by different means including gunshots," head of Port Said hospitals Abdel-Rahman Farag told Xinhua.

"The injured people were sent to nearby Port Said hospitals while the dead bodies were moved to Port Said general morgue," he added.

However, Ahmed Omar, spokesman of Cairo-based Health Ministry, said the number of the dead was four so far, "increasing the total death toll of the Port Said clashes since Saturday to 35."

During the funeral procession, gunshots were heard amid shouts of anger and sorrow. Meanwhile, some family members of the dead people in front of the Port Said morgue vowed for revenge.

The funeral was held for the 29 people killed in Saturday's clashes, which erupted after a court sentenced 21 suspects to death, who involved in a deadly football riot in Port Said that killed 74 in February last year.

Besides the 29, two police officers were also killed in Saturday's clashes, while over 300 were injured.

The Health Ministry sent Saturday air ambulances to Port Said to move the seriously wounded to hospitals in the capital Cairo.
