Iran summons Qatari charge d'affaires over "terror" allegation

TEHRAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Qatari charge d'affaires over an alleged link of his country to a "terror" plot, semi-official Fars news agency reported Tuesday.

An informed source in Iran's Foreign Ministry told Fars that, the Qatari charge d'affaires to Tehran was summoned and notified of Iran's "strong protest" regarding the matter.

On Sunday, Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that it had busted a terror cell planning to conduct sabotage activities during the presidential election slated for June 14.

The Ministry said in a statement that the head of the terrorist cell once worked for an Arab country and later contacted Israel's Mossad, adding that he formed a 12-member team to conduct sabotage and terrorist activities in Iran.
