NEW DELHI, July 4 (Xinhua) -- With the recovery of one more body from the roubles, the death toll in the garment factory building collapse in the western Indian state of Maharashtra in the wee hours of Thursday has risen to two, a senior police official said.

"While two persons are now confirmed dead, 26 others have sustained injuries in the incident which happened in Thane district's Bhiwandi area at 2 a.m. (local time). Some 10 people are still trapped inside the debris. Rescuers are working to bring them out," the official said, adding that the injured have been admitted to local hospitals.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added.

This is the second building collapse in Bhiwandi and the third in Thane in less than three weeks.

Building collapses are common in India because of poor construction.
