CAIRO, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- An Egyptian court referred back a fraud case against ousted president Mohamed Morsi to the prosecution, as the charges aren't within its jurisdiction, official news agency MENA reported on Monday.

Ahmed Yasser, the presiding judge of the case, had decided to held the session at Bourg el-Arab prison where Morsi jails instead of a courthouse for security reasons, MENA added.

In the fraud case, Morsi was accused of prompting illusional renaissance projects during his presidential campaign to win more votes.

Last month, Morsi stood trial on charges of incitement in connection with clashes between his supporters and opposition protesters outside the presidential palace (Ittihadiya) in Cairo in December 2012, in which at least seven people died.

He was also referred to criminal court on Saturday with other defendants, including the Brotherhood's general guide Mohamed Badie and his two deputies, over charges of revealing state secrets to foreign organizations, sponsoring terrorism, and carrying out military training and other acts that undermined Egypt's stability and independence.

Prosecutors alleged that the Brotherhood has prepared a " terrorist plan" that included an alliance with Hamas, the Islamists group that govern Gaza and Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiaa Islamist movement.
