Serbian parliamentary group visits Chinese embassy in Belgrade

BELGRADE, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The group of Serbian-Chinese friendship of Serbian Parliament visited Chinese embassy in Belgrade on Wednesday, and they attended a cocktail under invitation by Ambassador Zhang Wanxue.

The visit was arranged as the friendship group has recently doubled its size to to enhance links with China, said Zhang.

"I wish to use this opportunity to thank you on your untiring work and significant contribution to bilateral relations of Serbia and China,"said the ambassador.

Parliament Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic surprised his colleagues and embassy staff when he has thanked Zhang in Chinese language.

"I personally plan to continue learning Chinese, and I think that every man who wishes to progress should learn as much as possible. China is one of the most important countries in the world, "he said.

"We wish to reinforce our cultural cooperation, promote learning of Chinese language in Serbia, but also greater presence of Serbian language in China,"said Stefanovic.
