Gold price opens lower in Hong Kong

The gold price in Hong Kong went down HK$85 to open at HK$16,040 per tael on Thursday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.

The price is equivalent to $1,735.09 a troy ounce, down $9.19 at the latest exchange rate of $1 against HK$7.76.
