AIRBUS said yesterday that its A320neo (new engine option) passenger jet is expected to be built in China, following media reports of discussions on extending the life of its first assembly line outside Europe, in the northern city of Tianjin, to 2025.

The factory makes the current A320 model. The new aircraft, said to need 15 percent less fuel, is due to enter service in 2015.
