Sunday marks the 100-day countdown to the second China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services.
It is by far the one and only global fair covering all the 12 sectors of trade in services. This year’s event will focus on promoting the trade economy as the new engine for value enhancement. Globally, service trade, including services in communication, business, tourism, and health has risen to account for one-fifth of the total trade volume.
The Fair staged its debut last year when over 1,700 exhibitors from 83 countries joined the fair, reaching a total deal of more than 60 billion US dollars. The five-day event is set to be even larger this year.
Lu Yan, Secretary General of CIFTIS Organising Committee, said, "This year the expanded exhibition area has been expanded from over 50,000 square meters to nearly 70,000 square meters. We have gained more government support thanks to the endorsement of 20 national ministries and state administrations. To recruit more corporations to the fair, the organising committee has been travelling both home and abroad for promotions and introductory sessions."
