KATHMANDU, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The business community of Nepal, China and India are going to form a joint think-tank body to accelerate trilateral cooperation, a Nepali business leader said here on Monday.
The representative organizations of the business community in three nations are working to declare such a body by the first week of September, 2013, according to Pradeep Jung Pandey, vice president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
"Realizing that trilateral cooperation should be initiated from people-to-people level, the private sector representative bodies of three countries have reached an understanding for a think-tank organization to conduct through study on possibilities," businessman Pandey told Xinhua.
The possibility of the trilateral cooperation was much hyped during recent China visit of Nepal's former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
FNCCI has opened discussion over the formation of think-tank non-governmental organization with All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) recently.
FNCCI and ACFIC represent their respective countries in Nepal- China Non Governmental Aid Forum.
The proposed think tank body will seek mutual benefits for all three countries on infrastructure, culture, tourism and other areas.
