Danish Minister for Business and Growth launched the Royal Danish Embassy's new CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) network at the Danish Embassy on Saturday.

During the one and half-hour event, Danish Minister for Business and Growth Mr. Henrik Sass Larsen gave a keynote speech detailing the importance for companies to perform well on CSR when doing business in China.

Forty-two companies, including Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, Carlsberg and LEGO constitute the founding members of the new network. A member's directory of the new network was also released during the launch event in which all member companies communicate their unique footprint story in one publication.

Danish CSR expert Mr. Sune Skadegård and Lenovo's CSR manager Ms. Linda Fu were also presented at the event.

Sune Skadegård is a CSR advisor to the Danish Government and is currently completing a revision of a government sponsored CSR tool for companies which were presented during the launch event.

CSR manager of Lenovo Ms. Linda Fu elaborated on the successful aspects of Lenovo's Chinese CSR strategy and gave an assessment of the CSR opportunities in the Chinese market.

The new CSR network will run on a continued basis and throughout the year member companies will have access to practitioner's workshops where they can share knowledge and learn best practices from CSR experts.

The Danish Embassy first introduced the CSR initiative "My Danish Footprint in China" in 2011 to promote the positive impact of high CSR performing Danish companies in China.
