Golfer Tiger Woods once again topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid athletes. Woods, who has topped the list every year since 2001, earned $78.1 million in winnings and endorsements this year.

The annual list from Forbes ranks the world's hundred wealthiest active players. Baseball contributed more players to the list than any other sport this year, with 27 players ranking in the top 100. Basketball players, of which there were 21 on the list, were the second-most frequently featured athletes. Eight of those 21 were in the top 30.

The list included just three female athletes. Tennis player Maria Sharapova, who earned $29 million this year, ranked twenty-second, while fellow tennis players Serena Williams and Li Na ranked sixty-eighth and eighty-fifth, respectively. Li Na, who earned $18.2 million this year, is the only Chinese athlete on the list.

The list gave the list of the 100 active players based on earnings figures including salaries, bonuses, prize money, appearance fees, as well as licensing and endorsement income from June 1, 2012 and June 1, 2013.
