BEIJING, Oct. 7 (People's Daily Online) -- World No. 1 Serena Williams easily dismissed Serbian star Jelena Jankovic en route to a 6-2, 6-2 victory to win the China Open and her 10th title of an incredible 2013 season here on Sunday.
"I really love tennis so much and its fans like the ones here in China who are so exciting to come to," said Williams after the game. "The fans make me want to play, and they're so great here, so coming here is such a great opportunity."
Williams broke Jankovic twice in the first set and three times in the second to register her 73rd win of the season.
The eighth-seeded Serb only briefly threatened the top-seeded American, breaking her serve in the third game of the second set. But any hope she had was quickly extinguished by the top seed in Beijing, who dominated the set's remaining games.
Williams was playing for the first time since capturing her 17th Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open and didn't lose a set in her six matches this week. She won the Beijing crown for the second time, also prevailing back in 2004, and improved to an astounding 73-4 for the year.
