BWF World Superseries Finals to be held in Malaysia

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced on Thursday the BWF World Superseries Finals will be held in Malaysia this December.

Last held in Kuala Lumpur in 2009, the season-ending tournament of the BWF World Superseries this year tour will be held from December 11 to 15. The five-day tournament brings together the top eight individuals or pairs in each category - men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles - for a shot at sharing 500,000 U.S. dollars in prize money and the year-end titles, BWF said in a statement.

"We anticipate some great finals in Malaysia and we look forward to the best performers on the Superseries circuit giving their best," said BWF Secretary General Thomas Lund.

However, the home favorite and world No.1 men's singles Lee Chong Wei has announced earlier that he will withdraw from the BWF World Superseries Finals to prepare for next year's tournaments.
