A teacher of Nanjing Confucius Temple Elementary School draws a scarlet spot on a pupil's forehead, a symbolic manner to inspire her wisdom, during a ceremony of new semester held at the Confucius Temple in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, Sept. 1, 2012.
