The Re-envisioning of Luodai Ancient Town

The ancient town of Luodai is getting spruced up for tourists. A replica Hakka round house (or "walled village") has been created to educate visitors about southern Chinese culture. (CRIENGLISH.com/William Wang)

Just 10 kilometers away from the city of Chengdu, the ancient town of Luodai is a historic town of 200,000 people, 90 percent of whom are Hakka people. The spot has long been a popular getaway for tourists, but Luodai is now taking its tourism development to the next level.
