Beyou World in Beijing is more than just a theme park. It has become well-known among the city's parents, who say it's a place for children to have fun while learning some lessons useful for their future. CCTV’s Julian Waghann found out how Beyou World provides children with both games and education.

Beyou World -- a place where 3-12 year olds can get a taste of life in the working world. Inside is a simulated city with streets and all you would find on it. A bank, hospital, school and even police office, children here can play in different roles, be someone they dream of, and get some hands-on social experience.

When it comes to holiday recreation, parents often face a headache finding a place that’s also suitable for their kids. This place offers literally a world of possibilities for the little ones. Here at Beyou World in Beijing, the kids are invited to experience over fifty different occupations, from chef to doctors, from police to firefighters. This is literally the one stop destination where re-creation meets recreation.

With some really cool facilities, and simulated emergencies, the fire station is a hot destination for many youngsters. After recruiting 6--8 members, a squad is formed. The volunteers are dressed up and trained by a tutor, then begin a thrilling journey, sliding down a pipe, unrolling the water hose, it’s all the basics of a firefighter’s job. Then they march out on their mission.

Now this is the most popular occupation at the Beyou World. These kids in full gears have been called in from the fire department to put on a simulated fire at this apartment on the other side of the block. It’s not just about the simulated experience. These young adults here are also taught the important skills of problem solving and teamwork. Of course, with little sweat, they’re occasionally getting wet.
