Beijing, Oct. 24 (People's Daily Online) --The closing ceremony of the 3rd Yuncheng De Xiao Festival was held Wednesday in Yuncheng, north China’s Shanxi province where Study Abroad China set up its fifth culture-based tourism center of activity (CA). Dong Jiqiang, deputy head of Yanhu district of Yuncheng and secretary general Yang Limin with Study Abroad China attended the ceremony.
The program of Study Abroad China is a new type of culture-based tourism, which combines traveling with lectures, visiting and hands-on practices. The mode of the program integrates traveling with studying. Travelers from home and abroad could experience the Chinese folk arts and cultural activities.
So far, Study Abroad China has set up five culture-based tourism centers of activity in Beijing, Wutaishan, Pingyao, Langzhong and Yuncheng. The committee of Study Abroad China has organized local experts and scholars to write about Chinese folk arts and culture and plan for the route.
With a long history, Yuncheng is regarded as the head stream of the Shun Culture. Study Abroad China has developed a number of lectures, tourism products and routes in accordance with local features. More culture-based CAs will be set up and more lectures will be given to popularize traditional Chinese culture which plays an important role of cross-cultural exchange.(Gao Yinan)
