Famous TV host Li Yong may opt for teaching

Famous host Li Yong of China Central Television (CCTV) will become a teacher at the Beijing-based Communication University of China, leading online news portal Sohu.com reports.

The news was confirmed by the university's School of Presentation Art.

Li Yong graduated from the university, which is known as the cradle of China's radio and television talents, in 1988.

The website article did not specify whether Li would leave CCTV and totally devote himself to teaching.

But the article indicated Li's wife, Ha Wen, who has served as the chief director of the "CCTV New Year's Gala" show for several years, may have eclipsed her husband. Online posts about Li's possible resignation also appeared on Ha Wen's Weibo account, China's Twitter-like microblog service.

Li Yong is known for his unorthodox presentation skills and outfits. One of his signature programs is "Super 6+1," a game show broadcast on CCTV-2.
