China releases 1st Tibetan dictionary for primary & secondary students

The first-ever Tibetan Dictionary for primary and secondary school students has been released in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Northwest China’s Gansu Province. (PD Online)

The first-ever Tibetan Dictionary for primary and secondary school students has been released in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Northwest China's Gansu Province.

The dictionary features more than 10, 000 words and phrases, mainly taken from Tibetan textbooks for primary and middle schools. All of its content is classified into different categories, which will later be translated into Chinese.

Experts say the dictionary will help improve education and contribute to bilingual education in the autonomous regions.
