China has also been making a splash at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The event is not only famous for its star-studded red carpet, it’s also one of the most influential platforms to promote and showcase new movies. This year, Keanu Reaves, Matt Damon and a new Chinese kung-fu animation are all being rolled out.

"Kungfu Panda" was a global smash hit. The combination of martial arts, the iconic black-and-white bear and the Chinese setting all contributed to its success.
