
ASTANA, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1,989 new HIV cases were reported in 2011, compared with 1,969 cases in 2010, the Kazakh State Statistics Agency said on Monday a statement.
Statistics includes 19 HIV cases involving children under 14 years compared with 24 cases a year earlier.
The National Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control earlier reported that there were a total of 17,457 HIV-infected patients registered as of Nov. 1, 2011.
