Zhao Leji -- Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee

Zhao Leji is elected as member of the Political Bureau of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Nov. 15, 2012. (Xinhua)

BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The following is the biographical sketch of Zhao Leji:

Zhao Leji, born in March 1957, is a male ethnic Han from Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. He entered the workforce in September 1974 and joined the CPC in July 1975. He received a postgraduate education at the Central Party School.

He is currently a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress.
