Central leadership set a good example

The Central Economic and Working Conference kicked off on the morning of December 15. There were not green plants and flowers and the number of leaders on the podium decreased from more than 20 to eight. The simple layout of meeting place was a direct demonstration of new meeting style.

It is the first national meeting convened since the introduction of eight provisions to improve the work style made by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. The conference agenda is also different from previous years, with the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Wen Jiabao arranged on the morning of the same day, the three plenary meetings are reduced to two and two and a half days of conference are compressed into two days.

The two-day meeting is tense and substantial. Director general of China Meteorological Administration Zheng Guoguang said that the meeting is really different from the past. The major leaders shortened the length of speeches but enriched the contents, making a response to all matters concerned by common people and cadres at all levels. The central leadership has set a good example, which will infect the leading cadres at all levels.
