BEIJING, Nov. 13 -- The Communist Party of China (CPC)'s discipline watchdog on Wednesday called for institutional innovation in carrying out anti-corruption work.

In a meeting, the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC said it will implement the decision on comprehensively deepening reform. The decision was approved by the CPC Central Committee at the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

According to a communique released after the plenary session, the CPC Central Committee called for systems to punish and prevent corruption, institutional innovation and the building of a system that can guarantee anti-corruption work.

Presided over by Wang Qishan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CCDI, the discipline watchdog called for strong leadership in comprehensively deepening reform, as well as increasing the responsibility of Party committees and discipline inspection commissions at all levels.

The meeting urged discipline cadres to understand relations between comprehensively deepening reforms, the construction of a clean Party and anti-corruption work, saying that discipline watchdog should exert its role in the modernization of the country's governance system and capabilities.

The CCDI said it will revise the rule on Party inspection tours, and improve the system to cover all local governments, government departments, state-owned enterprises and public institutions.

The CCDI said it will strengthen its efforts in investigating and punishing Party cadres suspected of violations, asking discipline inspection commissions to address corruption issues.

The meeting urged all discipline watchdogs at all levels and their officials to clearly understand the current situations and China's national conditions, as well as the expectations of the Chinese people.
