Ma Xiaotian holds talks with Kazakhstani ground force commander

Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), held talks with Murat Maikeyev, commander of the Kazakhstani Ground Force, on September 20, 2012 in Beijing.

Ma Xiaotian said that the bilateral relations between China and Kazakhstan have been constantly moving forward since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 20 years ago as evidenced by close contacts between high-ranking officials of the two countries, increasingly strengthened political mutual trust and constant new achievements made in such fields as economy and trade, science and technology, and humanities.

Ma Xiaotian also said that the relations between the Chinese and Kazakhstani militaries have been making great strides in recent years as evidenced by frequent friendly contacts and pragmatic and efficient cooperation. The Chinese military is willing to make joint efforts with the Kazakhstani military to promote the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries to a new high on the basis of existing good cooperation.

Maikeyev said that the Kazakhstani side regards the Chinese side as a good friend and good partner, and always takes the friendly and cooperative relations with the Chinese side as one of the priorities of its foreign relations.

Maikeyev also said that the Kazakhstani side is satisfied with the achievements made in the relations between the two militaries in recent years and is willing to constantly promote the pragmatic cooperation in various fields between the two militaries, especially that between the two armies, to a new high.
