Heihe, a city on the China-Russia border in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, was clad with a heavy snow on Oct. 17, the first snowfall the city has ever embraced in 2012. A frontier defense company under the Heilongjing Provincial Military Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) stationed in Heihe has intensified the border patrol duties to ensure the security and stability of the border areas.
