47th World Military Shooting Championship concludes in Guangzhou

The 47th World Military Shooting Championship of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) concluded on the afternoon of December 8, 2012 in Guangzhou, capital city of south China's Guangdong province.

During the five-day-long competition, all the participating shooters from various countries competed fiercely in 12 items. The delegation of the Mongolian Armed Forces which took part in the CISM World Military Shooting Championship for the first time won one gold medal and one silver medal. The delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) won six gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals, topping the gold-medal table and the medal table. The shooters from the armed forces of Ukraine, France, Poland, Estonia and Belarus got the other five gold medals of the championship.

At the championship, the best woman rifle shooter award went to Estonian shooter Voronova, the best man pistol shooter award to the PLA shooter Xie Zhenxiang and the best woman pistol shooter award to the PLA shooter Zhu Yan.

Zhou Songhe, deputy chief of staff of the Guangzhou Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA, declared the conclusion of the championship.

The award ceremonies for all the 12 competition items and the three best shooter awards were respectively held at the closing ceremony on the same day.
