BEIJING, May 16, (ChinaMil) -- A new-type high-performance satellite navigation receiver, which was developed by the College of Electronic Science and Engineering under the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), made its debut at the 4th China Satellite Navigation Conference (CSNC) held on May 15, 2013 in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei province.

The satellite navigation receiver can simultaneously receive signals of China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), U.S.'s Global Positioning System (GPS) and Russia's Global Orbital Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS), with a positioning accuracy of 10 meters. Therefore, it can be widely used in such platforms as aircraft, ships and automobiles.

The satellite navigation receiver features high integration and small size, no bigger than an ID card, and is very easy to use.

According to experts, before the BDS service was available, the U.S.'s GPS or Russia's GLONASS satellite navigation receivers were widely used in China, but their accuracy and security in data positioning were limited.

The new-type satellite navigation receiver developed by the NUDT creatively integrates three signal systems of the BDS, the GPS and the GLONASS into a circuit board, thus increasing the selectivity in different environments. In particular, the independently-developed function of receiving BDS signals features high accuracy, anti-deception and anti-interference, and can effectively ensure the accuracy and security of navigation positioning.
