Fang Fenghui meets with Spanish guests

BEIJING, May 22, (ChinaMil) -- Fang Fenghui, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Juan Antonio Carrasco Juan, the visiting chief chairman of the Spanish Joint Chiefs of Staff for Defense, and his party on the afternoon of May 21, 2013 in Beijing.

Fang Fenghui expressed that the people of China and Spain share profound traditional friendship. The relations between the Chinese and Spanish militaries have maintained a good momentum of development in recent years. The Chinese side attaches importance to developing its friendly relations with the Spanish military, and is willing to further deepen the bilateral cooperation in high-level contacts, pragmatic exchanges and training of young and middle-aged military officers, so as to constantly push forward the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two militaries to a new high.

Carrasco said that the two militaries have achieved satisfactory results from the bilateral exchanges in recent years, and he hoped that the visit would further deepen enhance the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two militaries.
