BEIJING, May 25, (ChinaMil) -- A naval taskforce of the North China Sea Fleet under the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) departed from a military port in Qingdao of eastern China's Shandong province on the early morning of May 25, sailing toward the waters of the West Pacific for high-sea training.

The taskforce is composed of the "Qingdao" guided missile destroyer, the "Linyi" guided missile frigate, and the "Hongze Lake" comprehensive supply ship, together with two ship-borne helicopters. The "Qingdao" guided missile destroyer is the flagship of the taskforce.

Since the beginning of the voyage, the three warships have implemented a 24-hour seamless training while sailing in dense fog with a visibility less than 20 meters.

This high-sea training is part of the routine military training of the North China Sea Fleet in 2013. It also embodies the normalization of the PLA Navy's high-sea training.

In 2012, the PLA Navy carried out high-sea trainings totaling seven batches/times.
