Chang Wanquan meets with ROK navy chief of staff

BEIJING, July 12 (ChinaMil) -- Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of national defense of the People's Republic of China (PRC), met with Choi Yoon-hee, the visiting chief of staff of the Navy of the Republic of Korea (ROK), on the morning of July 11, 2013 in Beijing.

Chang Wanquan said that China and the ROK are close neighbors, and both of them are important countries in the region. The bilateral relations have been rapidly developed with the joint efforts of both sides since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which has brought real benefits to the people of the two countries. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the ROK side to continue to maintain mutual contacts and deepen pragmatic cooperation, so as to constantly push forward the relations between the Chinese and the ROK militaries and play a positive role in maintaining regional peace and stability and promoting common development and prosperity.

Choi Yoon-hee said that the two countries and the two militaries have carried out good exchanges and cooperation in many fields in recent years. The ROK side is willing to work together with the Chinese side to constantly strengthen pragmatic exchanges and cooperation, so as to further promote the development of the relations between the two militaries.
