PLAAF presents flower baskets to Heroes Memorial Wall

BEIJING, November 11 (ChinaMil) -- The Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAAF) held a ceremony to present flower baskets to the Air Force Heroes Memorial Wall at the Chinese Aviation Museum on the eve of the PLAAF's 64th founding anniversary on the morning of November 8, 2013.

Ma Xiaotian, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and commander of the PLAAF, and Tian Xiusi, political commissar of the PLAAF, attended the ceremony.

At 09:00, a total of 400-odd representatives of the leading organs of the PLAAF and the troop units stationed in Beijing directly subordinate to the PLAAF lined up facing the Heroes Memorial Wall, saluted heroes and models who made outstanding contributions to the building of the PLAAF, and paid silent tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the building of the PLAAF.

Built in 2009, the Air Force Heroes Memorial Wall is composed of the heroes' wall and the martyrs' wall, respectively engraved with the names of heroes and models who made outstanding achievements in the building of the PLAAF and the names of pilots and aircrew who sacrificed their lives for the building of the PLAAF.
