BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- China has launched a campaign to dispatch 30,000 experts in five years to serve at the grassroots level, a statement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said Wednesday.

The experts include academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, two major think tanks, government-sponsored scholars, Chinese nationals returning from overseas, foreign experts and post-doctoral researchers.

They will go to the country's underdeveloped western and northeastern regions to provide technological consultation and promotion, training and publicity regarding epidemic prevention and cultural content, a ministry official said

The campaign that starts this year aims to upgrade the industrial structure, accelerate the commercialization of research findings and strengthen grassroots expertise, the official said.
