(Global Times)

09:01, September 26, 2012

A man was found farming hairy crabs in the lake at the Summer Palace and offering them for sale at a high price, the Beijing News reported Tuesday.

A resident said he found a board saying the hairy crabs were growing in Kunming Lake and were on sale for 180 yuan ($28) per gram.

The Summer Palace management office said they had rented the lake to a company to purify the water, but the staff from the company illegally sold the hairy crabs. The management office will launch an investigation.
