A passenger surnamed Du, who used his cellphone to take photos and listen to music while on board a flight from Vancouver to Beijing, was detained by police Wednesday, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
Du refused to switch off his cellphone when the attendant tried to stop him using it on the flight Tuesday.
After the plane landed in Beijing, Du stopped the attendant to argue that it was unnecessary to switch off his phone. Du was taken to the police station and received a five-day detention.
