Bus plummets off Hunan cliff, two killed

CHANGSHA, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- A bus loaded with dozens of people fell off a cliff in central China's Hunan Province on Thursday afternoon, leaving at least two people dead, local authorities have announced.

Another five people were rescued after the accident happened in the city of Yongzhou. The exact number of passengers aboard the bus is not yet known but the municipal government has confirmed it to be "many," most of them students heading to attend the higher education self-study exam.

The total number of casualties is likewise not yet known.

The director of the municipal work safety administration is heading to the scene of the accident.
